Ishpeming- Rodney A. Wing, age 56 of 600 E St. Ishpeming passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Marquette General Hospital where he had been a patient for 5 days.

Rodney was born March 3, 1958 in Ishpeming to the late Harry & Marilyn (Wepsala) Wing.  He attended school in Diorite and Champion and at Westwood High School.  Rodney worked as a carpenter for many local area contractors.

Rodney enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was an avid Packer, Tigers, and Red Wings fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR races.  He was a member of Hope Free Evangelical Lutheran Church.  Rodney will be missed by his boys he raised.

Rodney is survived by 3 sons: Taylor & Adam Wing and Joseph Smith all of Ishpeming, 3 brothers: Glenn (Kim) Wing, Steve (Erika) Wing both of Diorite and Kevin Wing of Reno, NV, 4 nephews: Gabe, Derek, Darren and Dustin Wing, aunt and uncle Gerine and Ken Jaykka, cousins: David (Nancy) Jaykka, Diane (Guy) Murray, Carolyn (Jim) Trewnick and special friends: Randi and Alan Laakso and Sam Thibeault.  He was preceded in death by his parents Harry & Marilyn Wing.

Rodney's family will greet relatives and friends from 5:00-6:00pm on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Hope Free Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ishpeming Twp, where a memorial service will be held at 6:00pm with Rev. Micah Hjermstad officiating.
