Ishpeming- Rocco Anthony Bertucci, age 90 of 109 S. First St. Ishpeming, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at the Bell Hospital where had been a patient for the past 3 weeks.

Rocco was born March 5, 1917 in Ishpeming to Guiseppi & Giovanna (Roti) Bertucci. Rocco graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1935. Rocco worked for Cleveland Cliffs Mining Company at Cliffs Shaft prior to opening Rocky's Pool Room, which in its day was a gathering spot for many. Later Rocky's Pool Room was a gathering place for the friends to socialize, and play cards. Rocco was a devoted caregiver to his parents. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Rocco is survived by brothers & sisters: Anthony Bertucci of Ishpeming, Catherine Kirwan of Venice, CA, Elizabeth (Ray) Conradson of Milwaukee WI, Salvatore Bertucci of Ishpeming and James (Catherine) Bertucci of Fountain Hills, AZ, along with numerous nieces & nephews. Rocco was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Victor and a sister Jenny Cooper.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11:00am Saturday, January 26, 2008 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ishpeming with Fr. Greg Heikkala officiating. Inurnment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery at a later date.

The family will greet friends and relatives on Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church from 9:00am until the time of service at 11:00am.
