Ishpeming, MI – Robin Dale Gronvall, age 86, longtime Ishpeming resident passed away his at home in the loving care of his family after a brief illness.

Robin was born August 6, 1938, in Negaunee, the son of the late Frank and Doris (Tall) Gronvall. Robin was a graduate of Ishpeming High School class of "57". After High school Robin joined the Army National Guard and worked at the Ishpeming Armory for several years. Attended Michigan Tech in 1967. He secured a career for Ford Motor Company in Dearborn as light truck designer. Upon retiring Robin and his wife Sherry returned home to Ishpeming to enjoy retirement near family. Robin and his wife Sherry founded the Negaunee based carving club "Tri-city Chippers" sharing their talent and love of woodcarving with the local community. Robin also served on the Ishpeming Alumni Board and with his son Kurt helped establish the Alumni Annual concert raising funds  for scholarships.

Robin is survived by his wife of 65 years Sharon (Stewart) Gronvall, his children daughter Stacey Willey, son Kurt Gronvall, daughter Sandi (Mark) Mager, daughter Renee Wormet.  Brother Frank (Marcia) Gronvall. grandchildren, Randy and James Larkins, Sarah (Willey) Borski, Kassie (Wormet) Scheckel, Taylor Wormet. Les Rockwell, Benjamin Gronvall along with several great grandchildren.

Robin was preceded in death by his baby brother Dennis Gronvall, father Frank Gronvall, Mother Doris (Tall) Johnson, sister Sylvia Dawn (Putchie) Champion, and son-in-law Daniel Willey.

Robin's family will have a celebration of life gathering at a later date.
