Robert W. Schmuck, age 83 passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 18, 1930 to the late Walter & Myrtle (Grebe) Schmuck.
He graduated from Wayne State University with a Master's Degree in education. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Bob spent his career as an educator. He loved learning and loved to teach. He enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing and was quite a sports enthusiast.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara of 59 years – one brother, Richard Schmuck (Pat) of Hood River, OR. Four children – Kathleen Wallace (Rob) of Grass Lake, MI; Tamara Granlund of Republic, MI; Elizabeth Hintsala (Greg) of W. Ishpeming, MI and Michael Schmuck (Kate) of Ephrata, WA. Twelve grandchildren – Ryan Wallace, Rob Wallace, Allison Jarrell, Katie Adams, Shawn Granlund, Faren Granlund, Lauren Hintsala, Steven Hintsala, Andrea Hodgins, Chandra Hintsala, Rebekah Schmuck and Emma Schmuck. Eight great grandchildren – Aubrey Wallace, Madalyn Wallace, Garrett Wallace, Nora Jarrell, Lexi Jarrell, Kali Jarrell, Michael Adams and Gabriel Boivin.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Walter & Myrtle Schmuck and his precious dog "Buffy." A celebration of his life will take place in a private ceremony.
