L'Anse, MI - Robert (Bob) Lahnanen, age 54, of L'Anse, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at UP Health System Marquette after a 4-week battle with COVID-19.

Bob was born in Ishpeming on February 10, 1967, a son of the late Carol Liquia and John "Jack" Lahnanen. He grew up in West Ishpeming and was a graduate of the Westwood High School Class of 1985. Following graduation, Bob entered the United States Marine Corps serving his country from 1985 until 1989. Bob was currently the Vice-President of Operations at Mersino Dewatering, for whom he worked for the past 25+ years.

Bob was a member of the Riverside Club and the AmVets. Bob loved the outdoors, especially fishing on the local rivers, or a trail ride either in his Jeep or his side by side.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Andrea S. Lahnanen of L'Anse; two daughters, Katie Lahnanen of L'Anse, MI and Jacqui Lahnanen of Chassell, MI; two brothers, Rick Lahnanen of Helen Lake and Don Lahnanen of Ishpeming; stepsisters Lois Champion of Appleton, WI and Rosemarie (Steve) Larson of Ishpeming; stepbrothers David (Valarie) Kipling, Dean Kipling both of Ishpeming, and Kevin (Daniele) Kipling of Negaunee; two nieces Amber Lahnanen and Maggie Wendt; two nephews Dylan Lahnanen and Gavin Wendt; his in-laws Dallas and Elaine (Bieth) Tiensivu of Lapeer, MI; brother-in-law Jeff Tiensivu and sister-in-law - Carrie (Neil) Wendt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother-Helen (Cardew) Lahnanen and brother Jimmer Lahnanen.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 1:00 – 3:00 PM on Monday, December 13, 2021, at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM with the Rev. DJ Thomsen officiating. Military Honors will be accorded at the conclusion of the services.
