Republic, MI - Robert J. "Bobby Joe" LaForge, age 59, of 174 Willow Dr. Republic, MI passed away Monday, April 19, 2021 at his home in Republic.

Bobby Joe was born in Ishpeming on September 13, 1961, son of Arlene (Hakala) and the late Robert LaForge.  He grew up in Republic and was a graduate of the Republic-Michigamme High School, Class of 1980. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1980 -1982 having been stationed in Spain.  He had worked at the Khoury Factory in Iron Mountain for several years. Bobby Joe had been active in the Republic Horseshoe and Pool Leagues and was an avid Green Bay Packer Fan. In his spare time, he enjoyed leather and wood working projects.

He is survived by his mother Arlene LaForge of Republic, sister Sherry (Kevin) Warlin of Republic, nieces and nephews - Theresa (Matt) Greer and their son Austin, Laura (Chris) Stanolis and their children Caleb and Logan, Justin (Carrie) LaForge, and Lee (Jenna) Warlin, sister-in-law - Kristi (Bill) Thexton, along with several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Robert and a brother Curtis LaForge.

Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 8, 2021 the Republic Cemetery with Rev. Alex Ross officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Air Force at the conclusion of the services.
