Ishpeming Twp. Robert Hilliker, age 70 of 748 Cooper Lake Rd. Ishpeming Twp, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at his home under the loving care of his family and after a two year courageous battle with ALS.

Robert was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 31, 1939, to the late David and Rosemarie (DeBeaumont) Hilliker. He served in the U.S. Air Force having been stationed at K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base where he met his future wife. He married Barbara (Marcotte) Hilliker on July 7, 1962, and resided in Ishpeming. He was employed for 27 years through the Marquette County Road Commission.

Robert is survived by his wife Barbara; son – Todd (Becky) Hilliker of American Folk, UT; three daughters - Barbie (John) Taisto of Ishpeming, MI, Renee (Gordy Hendrickson) Hilliker of Marquette, MI, Mary (Eric) Baldwin of Ishpeming, MI; seven grandchildren - Mandy, Melisa (Brad Smail), Derek, Kyle (Jessica), Tyson, Mackenzie and Madison; two great granddaughters - Allyson and Hailey; four brothers and one sister. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11:00AM Friday August 21, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ishpeming with Fr. James Challancin officiating. The family will greet friends and relatives on Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church from 10:00AM until the time of service at 11:00AM
