Ishpeming – Robert L. Doucette, age 73, of 646 Iron St. Ishpeming, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017 at UP Health System Marquette, where he had been a patient since this past Monday.

Robert was born March 31, 1943 in Marquette, MI the son of the late Leo and Miriam (Savala) Doucette.  He grew up in the Cornishtown section of Negaunee and was a graduate of the Negaunee High School. He served in the United States Navy from Oct of 1962 – Oct. of 1966 receiving the Vietnam Service Medal.  Following his honorable discharge he attended Barber School.  Robert owned and operated the Twin City Barber Shop for 49 years which was located in Ishpeming from 1970-1981 and in Negaunee from 1981 until recently relocating back to Ishpeming.  Robert's favorite activity was golfing which included at the golf course or on his Nintendo wii.

Robert is survived by his longtime girlfriend Mary Blemke of Ishpeming, sons – Richard Doucette and Mark Doucette both of Ishpeming, Roger Doucette of Negaunee and Kevin (Jamie) Snyder of Ishpeming, sister Bonnie Kurian of Ishpeming and brother Donny Doucette of Ishpeming.  He was preceded in death by his 1 ^st wife Vickie and a brother Marvin.

Honoring Robert's wishes cremation will take place with no public services.
