Ishpeming – Robert H. "Bob" Dionne, age 83, former Humboldt Twp. resident passed away on Tuesday September 4, 2007 at the Marquette Co. Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming.


Robert was born February 23, 1924 in Marquette the son of William and Elsie (Gentz) Dionne, and was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Dionne worked for the Cleveland Cliffs Iron Co. for 32 years, retiring as a mechanic from the Tilden Mine in 1986. Bob enjoyed the outdoors, especially spending time at his camp, and the annual fall deer season.


Survivors include three children – Kenneth (Cheryl) Dionne of Appleton, WI, Sandra (Donald) Innerebner of Conyers, GA, and Mary (Robert) Mechling of Ishpeming, 6 grandchildren – Sherry (Eric) Cardew of Appleton, WI Tammie (Craig) Smith of Appleton, WI, Roberta (Ron) Soban of Richmond, VA, Lisa (Jason) Ford of Conyers, GA, Cory (Nicole) Frisk of Humboldt, and Kara (Brad) Havel of Big Bay, 9 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Leola Dionne in 2000, a son-in-law – Calvin "Kelly" Frisk, a sister Shirley Duvall, and his half brothers Lloyd and Lowell Steen.


Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday September 7, 2007 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with the Rev. D. Michael Carriere to officiate. Interment will take place at the Humboldt Twp. Cemetery.


The family will greet friends and relatives from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Friday at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming.
