Ishpeming – Robert D. "Bob" Tasson, age 75, of 401 Marquette St., Ishpeming passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at the Marquette General Hospital following a brief illness.


Bob was born May 6, 1934 in Ishpeming the son of the late Bruna V. and Frances M. (Skewis) Tasson. He was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1952. Bob served in the United States Army from 1957 – 1959. He returned to Ishpeming following his service days and worked as an accountant / bookkeeper first for the Soo Hardware Store in Marquette, then for Feltner's Plumbing and Heating in Ishpeming and Marquette and finally for Midway Rentals & Sales prior to his retirement in the mid-1990's.


Bob was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting in his younger years and was an avid reader of books. Bob took courses in plumbing and became a licensed master plumber.


Survivors include two sisters – Joan (Al) Goodney, Nancy (Ron) Milkey and a brother Gene (Mary) Tasson all of Ishpeming, an uncle and aunt Robert & Gwen Skewis of Marquette along with several cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew Michael Wirtanen.


The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, Feb. 1, 2010 from 10:00am until 11:00am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ishpeming. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. John's at 11:00 am on Monday with the Rev. Greg Heikkala to officiate. Inurnment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
