Ishpeming, MI- Robert D. "Dribs" Asikainen, age 70, of 111 Bluff St. Ishpeming, MI, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022, at UP Health System Marquette.

Robert was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on July 31, 1952, a son to Nancy K. (Anderson) and the late Robert A. Asikainen. He graduated from Ishpeming High School, Class of 1971.

Bob worked for the Iron Workers Local Union for a brief time, later working for Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company for 30 years, retiring from Empire Mine as a truck driver.

Dribs enjoyed playing cribbage in the Ishpeming Cribbage League, riding his Finnish electric bike, and was an avid sportsman.

Robert is survived by two sons Shawn Asikainen, of Negaunee; Craig (Paige) Asikainen of Ishpeming, a grandson Desmond, his mother Nancy Asikainen of Ishpeming, two brothers; Gary Asikainen of Negaunee and James (Diane) Asikainen of Weirsdale, FL, two sisters; Kathy (Russell) Sylvester of Ishpeming and Connie Hough of Ishpeming along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Robert A. Asikainen and a brother-in-law Randall Hough.

The family will greet relatives and friends during a social period to celebrate Bob's life from 1:00 - 3:30pm on Tuesday June 13, 2023 at the Mission Covenant Church, 1001 N. Second St. in Ishpeming.
