National Mine, MI - Robert N. "Hutch" Annala, age 79, lifelong National Mine resident, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024, in the Emergency Room at UP Health System Bell in Ishpeming.
Robert was born in Ishpeming on June 19, 1944, a son of the late B. Lorraine (Asgaard) and Nels A. Annala. Hutch was a graduate of the National Mine High School, Class of 1963. He worked for the Hercules Powder Co., the Callahan Mining Co. prior to becoming a truck driver with the Marquette Co. Road Commission from which he retired. Hutch enjoyed watching football, especially the Green Bay Packers, and attending Westwood High School Girls softball and boys and girls basketball games, along with playing cards with the guys.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Debe (Aho) Annala of National Mine, daughter, Wendi Annala of National Mine, two sons Bobby Jo Annala of National Mine and James Annala of Ishpeming, two sisters, Betty Kjellman of National Mine and Lois Durand of Ishpeming, brother, Larry (Patty) Annala of National Mine, brothers in law and sisters in law, Gail (Ronald) Santamore, Sue (Terry) Jandron, Dennis Aho, Rita (Dan) Niemisto, Roberta Annala, George Aho, Karen Aho and June Aho, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Hutch was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Terry Annala, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Jane Aho, brother-in-law's, Dick Kjellman, Sonny Durand, Bill Aho and Jerry Aho, a sister-in-law Candy Palm and her husband Richard.
A Celebration of Hutch's life will take place et the Tilden Twp. Hall on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 6:00-8:00pm.
