Ishpeming- Rita M. Semke, age 66, Ishpeming resident, passed away on Sunday August 9, 2020 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility while in the care of nursing home staff and UP Home Health and Hospice, following a short battle with cancer.

Rita was born in Goodrich, MI on July 14, 1954, daughter of the late Mat and Lillian (Dalaba) Stockinger. She graduated from Crystal Falls/Forest Park Highschool. She resided in Crystal Falls for many years before moving to Florida with her sister, and then made her way back to the UP where she resided in Ishpeming for the past 10 years.

Rita enjoyed reading, gardening, going to stock car races at Sands Speedway, and spending time with her cats who were like family to her.

Following Rita's wishes, cremation will take place with no public services.
