Ishpeming- Rita C. Bazinette, age 91 longtime North Lake resident, passed away on Monday December 12, 2022 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility while in the loving care of her family, UP Home Health and Hospice, and Nursing Home staff.

Rita was born in Ishpeming on April 22, 1931, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Guizetti) Comensoli. In her early years, she worked several jobs including Morgan Heights where she served in the dining hall, Bunny Bread, and Robbins Flooring Mill.

Rita was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ishpeming. She was an avid cribbage player, participating in many local leagues. She loved to go dancing, do ceramics, and enjoyed baking and canning.

Rita is survived by 6 children- Marsha (Bob) Rivord, Roberta (Gary) LaFreniere, John (Anita) Jonas, Anita (Brian) Ulrickson, Jacqueline (Steven) Warner, Laurie (Rick Koski) Seelen, 1 step-son- Tim Bazinette, 15 grandchildren- Toby (Jamie Freese) Rivord, Michael (Lyndsay) Rivord, Christopher Rivord, Tonya (Rich) Burke, Crystal (Lisa) LaFreniere, Jocelyn (Jake) Mattson, Jolene Jonas, Justin Jonas, Briana Olson, April (Chad) Korpi, Cole (Tiffany Katajamaki) Seelen, Ashley Seelen, Emily (Dennis) Brochey, Nick Bazinette, Meghan (Kristopher) Erickson, 24 great grandchildren- Michael, Samantha, Nash, Landry, Courtney, Karli, Samiah, Tatum, Parker, Alexa, Jaxon, Harmony, Finn, Chase, Gage, Abigail, Harlow, Axell, Hazel, Brycen, Mason, Jaxson, Josie, Hunter, 2 great great grandchildren- Alina, Ezra, 2 sisters-in-law- Rita (Robert) Corradina, Lucille Koski, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband- Robert Jonas, second husband- Lawrence Bazinette, 2 brothers- Joseph and Martin Comensoli, and sister- Arlene Nault.

Rita's family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Friday December 16, 2022 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ishpeming. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 pm with Fr. Ryan Ford as celebrant. A luncheon will follow in the church hall. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Marquette.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the activity centers of either Snowberry Heights or the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in memory of Rita.
