Humboldt Twp. – Richard A. Mackey, age 69 of 3940 Co. Rd FA, Humboldt Twp. Passed away on Saturday August 7, 2010 in a motor vehicle accident in Marquette Twp. due to an unknown medical condition.


Richard was born April 24, 1941 in Humboldt Twp. He was the son of the late Ivar and Hilja (Linna) Mackey. He attended the Champion School and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for the past 45 years as a Diesel Mechanic for Miller-Bradford & Risberg in Negaunee Twp. Richard married Linda (Harp) on April 10, 1987 in Marquette and will be remembered by her as a wonderful husband. An avid outdoorsman, Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing and 4-wheeler rides.


He is survived by his loving wife – Linda Mackey of Humboldt; 2 sons – Neville (Ann) Lewis of Iron River and Ron (Debbie) Lewis of Balsam Lake, WI; a daughter Beth (Derek) Felgar of Longmont, CO; 2 brothers – Marvin (Barbara) Mackey of Humboldt and Gene (Shirley) Mackey of Antigo, WI; 2 sisters – Arlene (Jim) Hanninen of Marquette and Helen (Steve) Archibald of Jacksonville, FL; a brother-in-law Norman Ostermeyer of Humboldt; 7 grandchildren – Faith, Brian, Kent Joseph, Jacob and Rachael Lewis, Amanda Stoychoff and David Sobiek; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Sandra Ostermeyer.


The family will greet relatives and friends from 2 – 3pm on Friday August 13, 2010 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home where a memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Friday with Charles Prusi officiating.
