National Mine – Richard "Dick" Kjellman, age 75 of 1080 Co. Rd. PBG in National Mine died Thursday March 12, 2009 at his home under the loving care of his family and Upper Peninsula Home health and hospice

Dick was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on November 11, 1933, the son of the late Gordon and Ethel (Arseneau) Kjellman. He worked as a miner at both the Mather B and Tilden Mine where he retired. Dick was a sportsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and being at camp. He was a "jack-of-all-trades" and dedicated eleven years of service to the National Guard.

Richard is survived by his wife Betty (Annala) Kjellman of National Mine, a daughter: Lori (Dean) Kulju of Ishpeming, 2 sons: Richard (Mickey) Kjellman, Gary Kjellman, both of Ishpeming, a grandson: Kory (Dawn), 5 granddaughters: Toni, Melissa, Micaela, Denelle, Rhianna, and step granddaughter Jaylene, 2 sisters, Paulette Lynn, Marcia Peterson and a brother: Michael (Sheila) Kjellman. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: John and Reynold.

A memorial gathering will be held from 1:00PM until 3:00PM at the Tilden Township Hall at 3145 CoRd PG, on Saturday, March 28th, 2009.
