Ishpeming, MI - Richard C. "Bugs" Bergman III, age 74, of 743 S. Pine St. Ishpeming, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at UP Health System Marquette.

Bugs was born in Ishpeming, on February 13, 1949, a son of the late Audrey J. (Boase) and Richard C. "Biv" Bergman, Jr. Bugs grew up on S. Pine St. in Ishpeming, and was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1967 and then attended NMU.

His working career started out as a bartender, working at Hickey's bar, the Roosevelt, which later became Ozzie's, along with serving as manager at the Office Bar and Restaurant in Marquette. Bugs then became a car salesman, working at several dealerships including Twin City Dodge, Coleman Chevy, Nelson Chevy (Crown/Fox) and Central Pontiac/Buick/GMC.

He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, the Ishpeming Elks Club where he had served as Tiler.  Bugs played in the Ishpeming Cribbage and Pool Leagues, participated for several years in the local Fastpitch Softball League and was a former member of the Wawonowin Country Club.  Bugs coached the Hickey's city league basketball team, making sure the fifth quarter was attended by his players. He especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren's, nieces and nephews' activities and events.  He was loved and well known throughout the Upper Peninsula.

Survivors include Susan L. Bergman of Ishpeming, whom he married on Nov 30, 2002. three daughters, Michelle (Scott) Herzog of Cedar Rapids, IA, Angela (Jim) Richer and Amy Lenten-Miller both of Negaunee, two sons, Tony (Jen) Lenten of Ishpeming and Michael (Linda) Lenten of Negaunee, 13 grandchildren - Bria Lenten, Alex Herzog, Matthew Haile, Haylee Lenten, Delanee Lenten, Jenna Syrjala, Ty Syrjala, Evan Richer, Makenna Richer, Emma Miller, Miah Miller, Stella Lenten, Amelia Lenten, two sisters, Bonnie (Robert "Shakers") Jacobson of St. Petersburg, FL, Bobbi Jo (Doug) Anderson of Green Bay, WI, four brothers, Ronald (Carol) Bergman of Ishpeming; Roger (Joanne) Bergman of Ishpeming Rob (Milissa) Bergman of Green Bay, WI and Randy (Cheryl) Bergman of Ishpeming, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Bugs' life will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Ishpeming Elks Club, where members of the Elk's Club with hold a memorial service at 1:30PM.
