ISHPEMING, MI – Raymond Anthony Forsti, age 88, passed away on Friday September 11, 2026, at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility.

He was born on August 28, 1938, to Simon and Martha Forsti of Ishpeming.

Raymond was a logger (lumberjack). Very skilled in a dangerous profession. Raymond took pride in his work and it brought him good memories and satisfaction later in life. He liked to cook and family would often call to see what was cooking on the weekend. He was born, lived and loved the area north of Ishpeming.

Surviving is his cousin, Gerald Pajre (Mory) of Negaunee, MI; Paulene and Bill Grawey of Ishpeming, MI; good friends Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Black, and Mr. and Mrs. Gory Kiiskila of Wautoma, WI; and a former caretaker, Nadia Skillman of Northville, MI.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Anthony; his grandparents, aunts and uncles, and a special aunt, Sude Marie Paju.

We wish to thank all of the staff at MCMCF for their excellent care and friendship extended to Raymond. Thank you also to Dr. Prevost and Anthony Lackey for years of excellent medical care.

A luncheon gathering will take place at the Grawey residence 13828 County Road CL, Ishpeming, MI, 49849, on Friday September 18, 2026, at 1:00pm.
