Obituary

Ishpeming – Ray Charles "Charlie" Kincaid, age 87, former Ishpeming, MI and San Antonio,TX resident passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at the Eastwood Nursing Center in Negaunee where he had resided for the past two years.

Charlie was born May 1, 1928 in Allentown, PA. He was raised in Allentown by his parents Jerome and Kathryn (Hahn) Kincaid, having graduated from Allentown High School. He went on to attend Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA graduating with a bachelor of science degree in mining engineering. While at Lehigh he was a proud member of the 1950 undefeated Football Team witch is the only team is school history to be undefeated. He married the former Carol Husby on December 25, 1952.

Charlie had worked locally as a mining engineer at the Mather "B" mine for the Cleveland Cliffs Iron Co. for several years. He then moved to San Antonio, TX where he worked for White's Mines for many years, starting as plant superintendent at the Uvalde Quarry and worked his way up to director of marketing and production of the White's Mine Co. Charlie had dual residency in his retirement years, wintering in San Antonio, TX and summering in Ishpeming. He was a avid Green Bay Packers fan.

Survivors include his wife Carol Kincaid residing at Eastwood Nursing Center in Negaunee, a son Kurt (Cathy) Kincaid of Houston, TX, grandchildren – Kristen (Brigham) Bigby III and Jeffrey Kincaid, a great grandchild Brigham Bigby IV, and a sister-in-law Barbara Nuorala of Ishpeming,

Cremation will take place with a private interment to be held at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
