Ishpeming, MI – Randy Edwin "Spud" Garceau, age 53 of 816 N. First St., Ishpeming passed away on the morning of May 1st, 2013 in Baraga Co. as the result of an auto accident.
Randy was born on April 12, 1960 in Ishpeming, MI the son of Walter J. and MaryAnn (Selinger) Garceau. "Spud" was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1978. He was a natural and gifted athlete in school which carried on into adulthood. After High School, Randy worked out west for a short period of time and on a fishing boat out of Homer, Alaska. He returned home after his Alaska adventure where he etched out a career working for several Industrial Supply Companies. He was presently employed by Johnson & Berry Manufacturing, Inc. of L'Anse.
Randy had many friends and participated in many sport leagues. Shortly after starting his own family he traded his spot in the action to watch his boys in their endeavors. You could always find Randy along a baseball fence, on the sidelines, or at the ice rink if one of his sons was playing. He was an avid outdoorsman with a love for the U.P. The only thing more important than the outdoors was family and friends. When he could combine both he was a very happy man. Some of his favorite times were spent north of Ishpeming with his family at camp or on the shores of Silver Lake.
Randy is survived by his wife Jolene (Heikkila) Garceau of Ishpeming, two sons – Zachary Garceau and Joshua Garceau both of Ishpeming, two brothers – H.
