Obituary

Ishpeming – Priscilla Ann Tasson, longtime Ishpeming resident passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette where she had resided for the past 6 weeks. Priscilla was in the loving care of her husband and the staff at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans, Special Needs Unit at the time of her death.

Priscilla was born in Ishpeming, MI the daughter of the late C. Ray and Lillian (Hebert) Manley. She was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School and St. Luke's School of Nursing, affiliated with Northern Michigan University, receiving a degree as a registered nurse. Priscilla worked in the nursing field for 32 years having served at Dr. Archie Narotzky's office, Dr. Tobin's and Dr. Bohjanen's office and as a patient advocate for Upper Peninsula Home Health and Hospice. Priscilla was also active for 40 years with the Ishpeming Cancer Society, now Cancer Care of Marquette Co. serving as President and Patient Care Director for many of those years. She was a member of the Michigan Nurses Association.

Priscilla was a lifelong Ishpeming resident who enjoyed spending her winters at St. Pete's Beach in Florida during her retirement years. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ishpeming.

Survivors include her husband Angelo Tasson, a son Dana (Greg Borders) Tasson of Portland, OR, sister-in-law Pat Manley of Ishpeming and brothers-in-law - Frank Sarvello, Martin (Sue), and Sammy Tasson all of Ishpeming, many nieces and nephews including a very special niece Lisa Sarvello, and special friends Peter and Fran Horn. She was preceded in death by two sisters – Pat Devereaux and Helen Sarvello and a brother James Manley.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 10 – 11 am on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Thursday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Greg Heikkala to officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cancer Care of Marquette County in Priscilla's memory.
