Obituary
Ishpeming- Peter L. Korpi, age 57 longtime Ishpeming resident passed away Saturday July 18, 2015.
Peter was born March 2, 1958 in Ishpeming to the late Arvid & Anna (Knorr) Korpi. He graduated from Westwood High School, class of 1976.
Pete was a self-employed carpenter, who was always willing to help his brothers with carpentry projects. He enjoyed fishing, going for walks, spending time in the outdoors or reading a good book. Pete also had a love for animals and was a caretaker.
Pete is survived by 6 children whom he loved and was very proud of: Jeff (Katie) Korpi of Marquette, Jeremiah Korpi of Montana, Abigail Korpi, Kaitlin Korpi, Benjamin Korpi and Emma Korpi all of Texas, 4 brothers: Matt (Judy) Korpi of Los Cruses, NM, Paul (Temuulen Ganbold) Korpi of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, John (Jodi) Korpi of Ishpeming and Luke (Sherry) Korpi of Denver, CO, grandchildren: Luke Korpi, Izzy Pearce-Korpi, Zooey Korpi & Ryleigh Korpi, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Pete was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Deedra Springston.
A private service for Pete will be held at a late date.
