Republic, MI Peter King, age 58, a long time Republic resident passed away on July 17, 2020 after a long battle with lung cancer in the loving care of his wife.

Peter was born on November 3, 1961 to James and Ruth (Spencer) King in Marquette, Michigan.

He attended Marquette Alternative High School graduating with the class of 1981.

In his free time he enjoyed working on cars as a mechanic, and spending time with his family and friends. He also volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul for 15 years, and making pasties at St. Augustines Catholic Church.

He was united in marriage to Betty Laabs on July 9, 1994 at St. Augustines Catholic Church. Together they had recently celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary.

Peter leaves behind his wife Betty; 2 Step sons, Dennis (Chantell) Gravedoni of Nebraska, and Phil (Jen) Gravedoni of Green Bay, WI; 4 Step-grandchildren, Rebecca, Ryan, Madeline and Everett Gravedoni. Also surviving are 2 brothers, James A (Jackie) and John (Annie); 4 Sisters, Kathleen Meni, Sandra Kaiser, Orlene (Brent) Riley, and Peggy (Pat) Brassard. Brother-in-Law Ken (Sue) Laabs, Sister-in-Laws Mary Laabs and Margaret (Sid) Bray, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Joe, Brother-in-Laws Tom Meni and Pete Kaiser, Mother and Father-in-law Clifford and Frances Laabs.

As he requested cremation has taken place and private family services will be held.
