Hobart, WI - Peter James Dreis, 53, of Hobart, WI, passed away at his home in October of 2021.  He was born in Iron Mountain, MI on February 21, 1968, the youngest child and only son born to the late Paul and Elvia (Wanhatalo) Dreis. When Pete was three years old his family moved from Iron Mountain to Ishpeming, where he attended schools in the NICE school district.

Pete joined the US Army at age 18 and achieved the rank of Army Specialist and also served in the Michigan National Guard.  He later earned a bachelor's degree in software development and throughout his life held many positions using the skill he learned in his education.  He held jobs in that field in E. Dubuque, IL, San Diego, CA and most recently in Green Bay, WI.

Pete is survived by his son and daughter, Alex and Alicia Dreis of Pulaski, WI; daughter, Samantha Rickman of Illinois; 3 sisters, Julie (Paul) Racine and Susan Joki of Ishpeming and Kathy Howard of Iron Mountain; brother-in-law Kyle Mackey of Humboldt and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carol Mackey.

Cremation took place in Green Bay, WI and a private graveside service with military honors will be held in the spring of 2022, at which time he will be buried with his parents in the Humboldt cemetery.
