Penny was born in L'Anse, Michigan on June 5, 1965, a daughter of Raymond Pakkala and the late Karen (Salo) Pakkala. She graduated from

L'Anse High School.

Penny owned and operated Strongman's Travel Agency in International Falls, MN. She was member of the Wawonowin Country Club where she served as a board member and was a member of the American Legion Greenwood Post 114 Auxiliary. Penny enjoyed the outdoors, swimming, hunting, fishing, and gardening.

Penny is survived by her husband of 20 years Jack Strongman, a son John Strongman, her father Raymond Pakkala, her sister Patti (Paul Chang) Pakkala, a nephew Nikolai Chang and brother-in-law Jim (Donna) Strongman. She was preceded in death by her mother Karen Pakkala.

Honoring Penny's wishes there will be no public service.
