Ishpeming- Peggy Sue (Pawnee) Gonzales, age 52 of 427 N. 7th St. Ishpeming passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at the Bell Hospital in Ishpeming with her family by her side.

Peggy was born May 18, 1958 in Benkelman, NE to the late Sylvander W. & Gweneth I. (Brown) Pawnee. Peggy lived in Florida prior to moving to Ishpeming in 1996. She worked as a cook at Sherrie's Restaurant. She enjoyed time spent with her children and grandchildren; she liked taking her grandchildren to the library and walks to the ice cream shop.

Peggy is survived by 4 children; Amber Gonzales of St. Cloud, FL, Angel (James) Cox, Robert (Nicole) Gonzales and Teyona Gonzales all of Ishpeming, a sister Carolyn Pawnee of Topeka, KS, a brother Sammy Pawnee of St. Cloud, FL 6 grandchildren: Kyle Mullins, Taylor Gonzales, Andrew Cox, James Cox, Jacob Mattila and Brody Gonzales, her ex-husband Roberto Gonzales, a special aunt Mable Jensen along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers Baby William Earl and Billy Joe Pawnee.

A Memorial Service will be held 1:00pm Sunday, February 6, 2011 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with Rev. Lauri O. Maki officiating.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home on Sunday from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 1:00PM.
