Republic - Mr. Paul "Puddy" Villeneuve, 64, of 11325 River Rd. Republic, passed away at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, April 29th, 2008 at Mather Nursing Center, Ishpeming.

Paul was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on March 6, 1944, the son of the late Paul Villeneuve and Lillian E. (Ylinen) Fosmoe. He graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1964.

At the age of 13 Paul was given the nickname "Puddy" by his father. Who at the time along with 6 friends were putting windows, Paul's father said to Paul "Hey Puddy, hand me the Paul", giving him the nickname "Puddy". Puddy was a generous man giving to many charities and belonging to many relief funds such as the American Relief Fund.

Paul was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping the wildlife

Paul is survived by a son, Doug (Cara) Reade-Dobson of Lexington, MO; 8 grandchildren: Dakota, Cheyenne, Devin, Douglas, Syndi, Matthew, Benjamin, & Aidan, two sisters, Kay Villeneuve of Ishpeming, MI; , Carol (Joseph) Bildings of Newald, WI, four brothers, Jim Villeneuve of Marquette, MI; , Edwin (Sharon) Villeneuve of Ishpeming, MI; , Joseph (June Lummukka) Villeneuve of Ishpeming, MI; John Villeneuve of Ishpeming, MI; along with numerous nieces and nephews and dear friends.

There will be no services. Paul's family would like to thank Tom Iona the rest of the staff with UP Home Health & Hospice and the Mather Nursing Center for the care given to Paul.
