Ishpeming- Mr. Paul W. Ninnis, 71, of 513 N. 3rd St. Ishpeming. , passed away on Monday, December 21st, 2009 at Bell Hospital.

Paul was born in Negaunee, MI on October 27, 1938, the son of the late William and Gladys (Olson) Ninnis. Paul graduated from Ishpeming High School and served in the U.S. Navy.

Paul worked for Cleveland Cliff as a store keeper at the Brownstone Shop. He was a member of the Ishpeming V.F.W. Post, he enjoyed gardening, working in the yard and time spent camping.

Paul is survived by his wife of 31 years, Viola (Davis) Ninnis two sons:
Todd Ninnis of Marquette, Francis McDonald of Ishpeming, a daughter Katrina Brozak of Ishpeming, a brother, David Jokela of Ishpeming, 6 grandchildren: Alicia (Adam) Syers, Amber Chapman, Tony Chapman, Travis Brozak, Sabrina Brozak, and Brooke McDonald, 2 great grandchildren: Alexander Syers and Avalon Syers. Paul was preceded in death by his father William Ninnis, mother Gladys Jokela, and step father William Jokela.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, December 28th at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming with Rev. Marcia Solberg officiating. Interment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home on Monday from 12:00noon until the time of service at 2:00PM. The Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 380 will conduct Military Honors at conclusion of the funeral service.
