Ishpeming- Paul "Jake" Werner Dreis, age 76, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming where he resided for the past two and one half years.

Paul was born in Houghton, MI on September 28, 1934 to Paul J. & Ann V. (Tomasic) Dreis. He attended Houghton High School where he excelled in track and other sports. On August 20, 1955 he married Elvia Alice Wanhatalo.

Paul worked in radio sales in Big Rapids, MI, Mt. Pleasant, MI, Clare, MI and Iron River, MI and television and radio sales in Iron Mountain and Ishpeming Michigan. He has resided in Ishpeming for the past 40 years. He also worked as a custodian for Westwood High School and NMU. In the 1990's through 2004 he worked as a contract hauler for the Mining Journal. He was an avid Packer fan and Brewer's baseball fan. He attended Hope Free Ev. Lutheran Church in Ishpeming.

Paul is survived by his wife Elvia of Ishpeming; four daughters, Julie (Paul) Racine, Kathy (Allen) Howard, Susie Joki all of Ishpeming, & Carol (Kyle) Mackey of Humboldt; one son Pete (Amy) Dreis of East Dubuque, IL; one sister Patricia (James) Lassila of Houghton; 16 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Hope Free Ev. Lutheran Church in West Ishpeming on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 12:00 noon wit Pastor Micah Hjermstad officiating & Pastor D. Michael Carriere assisting. Visitation will be held from 10:00am to the time of service.

Honorary Pallbearers are Paul's nine grandsons, Paul, Sean, & Joseph Racine; Daniel Tonge; Jeremy & Luke Joki; Jared & David Mackey; and Alex Dreis.
