Paul Leffler
Ishpeming- Paul R. Leffler, age 88 of 822 Wabash St. Ishpeming, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at the Marquette General Hospital.
Paul was born June 15, 1918 in Ishpeming to Rudolph J. & Anna (Murphy) Leffler. He graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1935 and attended Ferris Institute where her studied business administration. Paul worked for a brief time at the JJ Leffler Meat, Grocery and Sausage Factory prior to working many years for the Cleveland Cliffs Mining Company as an ore grading clerk.
Paul was a member of the St John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and was past president of the Ishpeming Carnegie Library Board. Paul enjoyed writing poetry, reading, gardening and traveling.
Paul is survived by his wife of 67 years Marjorie (Garrett) Leffler, 2 children Margaret Leffler of Ishpeming and Garrett Leffler of Grand Rapids, MI, a granddaughter LaSondra "Nikki" Leffler, 2 great grandchildren Alexis and Garrett, cousins: Helen Sackerson, Nancy (Ken) Nelson, and James Trebilcock along with nieces & nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Sondra Leffler, a son John R. Leffler, and sisters: Helen Leffler and Agnes Trebilcock.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00a.m. Friday, June 15, 2007 at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ishpeming with the Rev Monsignor Peter Oberto officiating. Burial will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery.
Friend may call at St John's Catholic Church on Friday from 9:30a.m. until the time of service at 11:00a.m.
Pallbearers will be William Garrett Sr., William Garrett Jr., Matt Kitto, Joshua Kitto, Gerald Prideaux and Donald Veale.
