Ishpeming- Patti Ann Bess, age 62 longtime Ishpeming resident passed away Sunday June 28, 2015 at the Eastwood Nursing Center where she been a resident for the past 5 days.

Patti was born June 5, 1953 in Ishpeming to the late Gardner L. & Violet (Smith) Bess. She graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1971 and attended Northern Michigan University. Patti worked as a secretary for the State of Michigan at the Marquette Branch Prison where she worked for 30 years.

Patti was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Ishpeming. Patti loved to sing, along with bowling, playing softball and throwing horseshoes. Patti enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her great nieces and great nephews.

Patti is survived by her husband Eugene R. Larson Jr, nephews: Allan, Jeff, Gardner R. (Carrie) Jr., David Jr. (Kellie Clark) and Robert (fiancée Janelle Turino) Bess, nieces: Linda Kane, Cheryl Bess and Nicole Bess, great nieces and great nephews: Jessica (Trevor) Morrison, Melanee, Erica, Jeffrey, Gardner III, Russell, Ryan, Heather, Kelsey, Olivia and Hadley, a great great niece, a great great nephew along with special friends Mary & Pat Gingrass. Patti was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers Gardner R. Bess and David Bess.

Funeral services for Patti will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday July 2, 2015 at the Grace Episcopal Church with Rev. Phyllis DeWitt officiating. Interment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery.

Patti's family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday at the Grace Episcopal Church from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.
