Obituary

ISHPEMING, MI - Patricia "Patti" Ogea, age 66, passed away at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming, on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, while in the comforting care of her family and MCMCF staff.

Patti was born in Chicago, Illinois, and moved with her family to Republic, Michigan, during her childhood. She attended Republic-Michigamme Schools and graduated from high school before marrying and starting a family of her own.

Patti and her family made their first home in Ishpeming, where she embraced her role as a homemaker, a responsibility she truly loved. She devoted herself to raising her children and creating a warm, welcoming home filled with love.

Patti enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She loved playing bingo, working crossword puzzles, and spending quiet time at home. Her family fondly teased her about her love of soap operas, a pastime she never outgrew. She was also well known for her delicious carrot cake, which became a favorite among family and friends and was often requested at gatherings.

In her later years, Patti resided at Christian Park Healthcare Center in Escanaba before moving to the Marquette County Medical Care Facility to be closer to her children.

Patti is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Ogea; her sons, AJ (Deidra) Ogea and Cody (Sam) Ogea; her beloved grandchildren, Lily, Violet, Ivy, Tayla, and Paislee; her sisters, Diane (Jeff) Morris and Kathy Ross; her brother, Tom (Susie) Ross; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joan Robertson Ross and William (Ross) Russo; and her brother, Mike Ross.

In honoring Patti's wishes, cremation will take place, and no public services will be held.

Patti will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her kind heart, her quiet sense of humor, and the comfort she brought to those who knew and loved her.
