Ishpeming- Patricia (Patty)  M. Cornish, age 71, longtime Ishpeming resident, passed away on Wednesday July 1, 2026 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI.

Patty was born in Key West, FL on March 5, 1955, daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (Sullivan) Cornish. She attended Chassell High School and attended both Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities earning her RN degree. In later years she earned her Master’s Degree; MSN. Patty worked at Upper Peninsula Health Plan as a Clinical Coordinator, RN, MSN for more than 25 years, and was still actively employed at the time of her passing.

Patty was a member of the Superiorland Pet Partners. She took great joy in her pets and helping others to realize the joy in their furry and feathered friends. Patty loved to travel, both within the U.S. and abroad.

Patty is survived by her brother-Michael (George) Cornish; brother-Mark (Mary) Cornish; sister-Judy (Steve) Cavanaugh; sister-Lisa (Dave) DeWyse; brother-Chris (Gini) Cornish; brother-John (Jenna) Cornish, along with numerous nieces and nephews and several great and great-great nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, all of which she cherished greatly. She is further survived by her extended family; Elena and Dennis Daniel; Ina Elizabeth Holdo; Marjut and Anti Lehtonen; Ilke Sticherling; Della Slavsky; and all her dear friends with SLPP.

She was preceded in death by her parents Patrick and Mary (Sullivan) Cornish.

Following Patty’s wishes, cremation will take place. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate her life will be on Saturday, July 25th.  The family will receive friends at the Al Quaal Lodge in the Al Quaal Recreation Area in Ishpeming from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 PM on the 25th. Pets will also be welcome 🐾
