Ishpeming, MI- Olive Pearl Solomon, age 102, life-long Ishpeming resident, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022.

Olive was born at home in National Mine, Michigan on July 20, 1919, to John and Sarah (Gill) Cardew. She graduated from National Mine High School at the age of sixteen.

Olive enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She also liked to play cards, "Skip Bo," watching birds and listening to Christian Radio. She was an avid reader and would read the Bible once a year. She was a member of the former Salisbury Methodist Church where she was active in many church groups including the Women's Society of Christian Services. She was very generous with what she had.

Olive is survived by four children: Sandra (Bruce) Pierce, David (Bonnie) Morcom, Patricia (Tom) Petersen, and Peter Morcom, twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband Sherwood Morcom, second husband William Solomon and baby son Bruce, four sisters and five brothers.

A private funeral service will be held at the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home.

Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
