Ishpeming- Norman E. "Sarge" Kemp, age 70, longtime Ishpeming and Republic area resident, passed away on Friday September 6, 2019 at UP Health System Marquette while in the loving care of his family and friends.

Norman was born in Ishpeming on July 23, 1949, son of the late Eugene and Shirley (Hytinen) Kemp. He was a graduate of the National Mine High School.

Norman enjoyed 60's music, loved travelling all over the United States. He never judged anyone and would hang out with all walks of life, even the hoodlums who he encountered in his travels. Norman loved animals, especially his dogs. He like motorcycles, was an auto enthusiast who liked his cars.

Norman is survived by his son- Scott (Annette) Hyttinen, grandchildren- Trinity Hyttinen and Gabe Hyttinen, and lifelong special friend- Jimmy Pearson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and granddaughter- Cami Hyttinen.

Following Norman's wishes cremation will take place with a private family gathering to follow.
