Ishpeming- Norma L. Bess, age 67, of Ishpeming, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2008, at the Marquette General Hospital following a lengthy illness.


Norma was born November 19, 1940 in Ishpeming to Francis & Violet (Mager) Davis. She worked as a seamstress for the H.W. Gossard Company, a cook at Pizza Hut and as a hostess at Happy Panda. Norma enjoyed craft work and volunteered for the food coalition. Norma enjoyed growing tomatoes and had a beautiful rose garden.


Norma is survived by her husband of 48 years, Lloyd Bess, a son Bobby Joe Bess and his fiancée Elaine Hill of Ishpeming, sisters & brothers: Sharon (Paul) Ninnis of Ishpeming, Donna (Vern) Posio of Dixon, MT, Butch (Lynda) Davis of Ishpeming, Norman (Shelly) Davis of Greenfield, IN, Cathy (Terry) Wilson of Maiden, NC, Patty Anderson of Maiden, NC and Arnold (Susan) Davis of Sumter, SC A special niece Tina Brozak and great niece Amber Chapman along with other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a great great nephew. Norma was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Billy Davis.


Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with Rev Al Davis officiating. Burial will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery.


Friends may call the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home on Wednesday from 11:00am until the time of service at 2:00pm. Luncheon to follow at the Grace Episcopal Church in Ishpeming.
