Ishpeming, MI- Nicole Serina "Nik" Knight, age 51, of 640 Iron St. Ishpeming, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit following a brief illness.

Nicole was born in Marquette, Michigan on March 27, 1972, a daughter of Shirley (Lequia) and the late Donald Michelson. Nik graduated from Marquette Senior High School, Class of 1990.

Nicole was currently employed at Walmart where she worked as a cashier for 21 years. Nik enjoyed time spent with family, traveling, shopping, adventuring, hiking, and biking.

Nik is survived by her husband Dan, whom she married on October 29, 1994, her mother Shirley Michelson of Marquette, 2 children; Tyler (fiancée Bailey) Knight and Courtney (Josh Welch) Knight, a grandson Crue Knight of Ishpeming, a brother Dale (Carrie) Michelson, nieces, and nephews; Jill (Jason) Cooke, Colleen (Rachel) Michelson, James Michelson, Michael (Erin) Michelson and Kyle Michelson. Nik was preceded by her father Donald Michelson and sister Babbie Jo Michelson and an Uncle Kenneth (Sharon) Lequia.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home starting at 10:00 am followed by a funeral service at 12:00 noon with Fr. Christian Flagstadt to officiate.

Interment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery.

A potluck luncheon will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church fellowship hall.
