Ishpeming, MI – The hugs from Nancy C. Wood will now be greatly missed on this earth. Nancy, age 80, longtime Ishpeming Twp. resident entered the everlasting peace of heaven on Thursday June 9, 2022, while under the loving care of her family, staff at the Marquette Co. Medical Care Facility and the U.P. Home Health and Hospice.

Nancy was born in Ishpeming on December 14, 1941, daughter of the late Vieno I. (Saarinen) and Thomas A. Pascoe. She was a graduate of the Negaunee High School. She married Richard Wood and together they raised six children in Ishpeming Twp. Nancy loved her work as a CNA at the Mather Nursing Center, along with the many health care business she worked with, including as a private duty caretaker until this past December. Nancy was an active member of Mission Covenant Church and various prayer groups along with doing volunteer work with a local hospice agency.

Survivors include three daughters, Sandee D. (Dave) Benson of Negaunee; Julie Wood of Ishpeming; Diane (fiancé Chuck Bogaerts) Wood of Ishpeming; three sons, Rich (Deb) Wood of Sands Twp.; Dan (Christy) Wood of Ishpeming; Robert (Carrie) Wood of Ishpeming; a brother Hank Pascoe of Marquette, and his wonderful family; her grandchildren - Kortney (Justin) Knowles, Shawna (Greg) Bussone, Danielle Helwig, David Helwig, Tori Anderson, Shannon Finch, Jessica (Mike) Wood-Rubick, Bridget, Matt, Livvie, Justin and Adalyn Wood; along with numerous great grandchildren; nieces & nephews, including special niece Lynn Larson known to Nancy as "Thelma and Louise". Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Richard Wood (2005), siblings - Marion, Ethel, Marjorie, Jimmy, and Thomas.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00am – 12:00pm on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at the Mission Covenant Church, 1001 N. 2 ^nd St., Ishpeming. Funeral services will follow at 12:00pm at the Mission Covenant Church with the Rev. Bill Payne and Rev. D. Michael Carriere to officiate. A luncheon will follow the services in the church hall. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
