Obituary
Republic – Nancy A. "Nanu" Wenberg, age 50, of 369 Pine St. Republic Twp., passed away on Friday January 7, 2011 while in route to Bell Hospital in Ishpeming.
Nancy was born July 15, 1960 in Detroit, MI the daughter of the late James and Lorraine (Arcon) Wenberg. She was a graduate of the Garden City West High School, Class of 1979. Nancy moved to the Upper Peninsula in the early 1980's, residing briefly in Ishpeming prior to moving to Republic. Nancy had worked in the meat dept. at Jubilee Foods in Ishpeming and had tended bar at the Robin's Nest and Bill's Bar in Republic. She enjoyed playing yahtzee, doing crocheting, cross stitching, and puzzles. She also belonged to the Women's Horseshoe League and the Republic Pool League. Nancy was an avid Detroit Lions, and Detroit Red Wings fan, she also enjoyed shows such as The Biggest Loser, The Bachelor, Dancing with the Stars, and Big Brother.
Survivors include her beloved longtime partner Bill Seppa of Republic, a sister Cathy (Jim) Dulbs of Adrian, a brother Ronald (Mary) Wenberg of Wayne, nieces and nephews, Keith (Annette)Wenberg, Melissa (Chris) Wenberg Mosely, Jeff(Tonya)Dulbs, Michael Dulbs, Joseph (Brittney) Dulbs, along with 11 great nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved, 3 godchildren – Alyson Saari, Sofia Dulbs and Logan Swenor, special close friends Vickie Skogman, Kasey Saari, Kerry Carlson, Jodie Wertanen and Marlene Russo, special children – Cody and Jake Carlson, Cody and Nikki Wertanen, Taylor, Alyson and Paige Saari, James, Jodie, Kristen, Brandon and Jack Skogman, Darren Tara, Logan, and Luke Swenor, all of which she loved very much. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son Christopher James Wenberg in 1982, and a special close friend Martha Alto.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 3 until 4pm on Thursday January 13, 2011 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming. Funeral services will follow at 4:00pm at Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with the Rev. Katherine Finegan to officiate. Interment will take place in the spring at the Republic Cemetery.
