Republic- Nancy C. Kelley-Joplin-Kuppin, age 87, longtime Republic resident, passed away on Monday August 12, 2024, at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility while in the loving care of her family and nursing home staff.

Nancy was born on November 9, 1936, in Elgin, IL, daughter of the late John and Margaret (Horton) Kelley. She grew up in the Elgin area and graduated from Elgin/Larkin High School. Nancy and her family moved to the UP in 1982, where they made Republic their home. She worked at Republic Township until the age of 75.

Nancy was an avid reader, she enjoyed doing fill-in puzzle books, bird watching, relaxing on her deck swing, going on her yearly camping trips and vacations to Florida with her family where she enjoyed coffee and ocean sunrises with her kids. Nancy loved sea turtles, which can be found throughout her décor.

Nancy is survived by 6 children- Debbie (Dave) Edgington of Lake in The Hills, IL, Cyndi Joplin of Wonder Lake, IL, Son-in-Law, Phil Warner, Glenbeulah, WI, Rick (Brandie) Joplin of Crystal Lake, IL, Mike (Jennifer) Joplin of West Dundee, IL, Glenn (Michelle) Kuppin of Gwinn, MI, Toni Kuppin of Lomira, WI, 2 siblings- Kathy Nault of Republic, Dennis (Robi) Kelley of Saline, MI, along with 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews, and her dear friends Carol Kellow and Faye Mattila. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter- Sherry Warner, son- Frankie Kuppin, sister- Karen Guerra, and her first husband- Leslie D. Joplin.

Nancy's family will greet relatives and friends at the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home on Sunday August 18, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm with Pastor Chad Mager officiating. All are invited to a luncheon that will follow at the Republic Twp. Fire Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Marquette County Medical Care Facility Activity Fund in memory of Nancy.
