Obituary

Ishpeming, MI - Nancy C. "Nana" Jones, age 82, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024, at Marquette County Medical Care Facility while under the loving care of staff members at MCMCF and Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Nancy was born in Ishpeming, MI on September 12, 1942, a daughter of the late Laura I. (Pesola) and Richard A. Stetson. She grew up in Diorite location and was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1960. Nancy was a Waitress at the Country Kitchen in Ishpeming, having worked from the day it opened till its closure. Nancy was a longtime member of the Wawonowin Country Club and the Ishpeming Elks. She was an avid quilter and knitter and loved to play various card games.

Nancy is  survived by a daughter, Tina (Jason) Spittle of Union Grove, WI; two sons, Paul (Robyn) Altobello of Ishpeming; Joseph (Juanita) Altobello of Los Lunas, NM; sister, Bonnie Miller of Ishpeming, brother, Ricky (Bonnie) Stetson of Champion; grandchildren, Tyler, Phillip and Raymond Johnson, Andrew and Craig Spittle, Arica (Alex) Hauswirth, Ian (Nikki Johnson) Altobello, Antonio, Abby and Danny Altobello. along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Lori Tanner and Terri Stetson and brother, Tim Stetson.

Per Nancy's wishes cremation will take place and a private interment will be held at the Humboldt Cemetery.

Nancy's family wishes to thank the staff at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility for their compassionate care over nearly 7 years.
