Ishpeming - Nancy J. Hendrickson, age 79 longtime Ishpeming resident, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Woodland Assisted Living while under the loving care of her family and UP Home Health & Hospice.

Nancy was born April 9, 1932 in Ironwood to E.W. & Jennie (Anderson) Lindberg. She graduated from Ironwood High School and attended Gogebic Junior College. Nancy had worked as a waitress at the Midway Supper Club in Negaunee Twp and had served as the manager of the Wawonowin Country Club where she enjoyed golfing. Nancy enjoyed knitting and craft work, and was very giving of her time. While raising her family she was a leader in the local Girl Scouts. She was an active member of the Bethany Lutheran Church of Ishpeming, where she served on the altar guild. Nancy was an avid Duke University Basketball fan.

Nancy is survived by six children: Susan (Carl) Gaborik of Hampton, VA, Peggy (Charles) Moss of Dayton, OH, Robert (Cindy Antilla) Hendrickson of Ishpeming, Karen (Randy) Kirkman of North Augusta, SC, Ralph (Diane) Hendrickson of Greenville, WI and Steven Hendrickson of Hampton, VA, 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, four brothers: Gordon (Sharon) Lindberg, Robert (June) Lindberg, David (Jean) Lindberg, and E.W. (Nancy) Lindberg Jr. along with numerous nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Arnold and a brother Jack Lindberg

The family will greet relatives and friends from 2 until 3pm on Sunday at the Bethany Lutheran Church. A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00pm on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Ishpeming with the Rev. Warren Geier officiating. A dessert reception will be held in the church fellowship hall following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to either the Bethany Lutheran Church or the Upper Peninsula Home Health and Hospice in Nancy's memory.
