Ishpeming, MI - Morris E. "Moe" Carlson, Jr., age 74, lifelong Ishpeming resident, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, while under the care of his family, Lake Superior Hospice and Staff at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility, where he had resided for the past 4 years.

Morris was born in Ishpeming, on April 21, 1950, a son of Jeanette Marie (Versailles) and the late Morris E. Carlson, Sr.  Moe grew up in Ishpeming and was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1968 and excelled in athletics. His working career took him to many local grocery stores, most notably as assistant manager at Jim's Westgate in Ishpeming Twp.  Moe enjoyed bowling and going for rides in the woods later in life, along with following his grandchildren's events.

Morris is survived by a daughter, Jeanne (Shawn) Argall, two sons, Chris (Kim) Carlson and Bobby (Shannon) Carlson all of Ishpeming, his mother Jeanette Carlson of Ishpeming, three sisters, Carolyn (Joe) Beauchaine of Marquette, Barbara (Jeff) Couveau of Republic and Marlene (Pat) Miller of Illinois, three brothers, John (Tammy) Carlson, Tom (Hope) Carlson and Steve (Debbie) Carlson all of Ishpeming, grandchildren, Parker, Carson and Preston Argall, Kassy, Kylie, Kaydi, Taylor, Zach, Lauren and Asher Carlson and Madi Mead; a great grandson, Grady Anttila, along with numerous nieces and nephews.  Moe was preceded in death by his father, Morris "Pard" Carlson, Sr., daughter, Tricia Jean Carlson, nephew Danny Carlson and grandson Greyson Carlson.

Per Moe's wishes, cremation will take place with a private interment to take place in the spring at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
