Ishpeming- Mila J. Leppanen age 55 of 709 N. Second St Ishpeming passed away Tuesday, April 05, 2011 at her home under the loving care of "Butch", her family and UP Home Health and Hospice.

Mila was born August 16, 1955 in Ishpeming to Wiljo & Hilda (Maki) Leppanen. She graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1973 and received an associate's degree from Northern Michigan University. Mila worked as an administrative assistant for the Ishpeming Housing Commission for 31 years.

Mila enjoyed scrapbooking, traveling and camping with Butch, and had a love for music and enjoyed playing the piano. She was a devoted Christian and loved her family and enjoyed family gatherings.

Mila is survived by her companion and best friend Richard "Butch" Nault , 2 brothers: Gordon (Paula) Leppanen and John (Marcy) Leppanen both of Ishpeming, nieces and nephews: Tara (Michael) Warren of Anchorage, AK, Travis of Jackson, WY, Laura, Rebecca, Dan, Mike (Julie), Jenni, Steven, Sarah, Christine and Peter Leppanen, great nieces and great nephews, an aunt Helen Keskimaki, special cousin Carrie (David) Brockman & family along with other cousins.

Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home 400 N. Third St. Ishpeming with Rev. Rudolph Kemppainen officiating. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday at the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home from 11:00am until the time of service at 2:00pm. A luncheon will be held at 111 Bluff St. (the High Rise) community room following the service.
