Tilden Twp – Michael Raisanen, age 68, longtime Tilden Twp. resident passed away on Tuesday January 10, 2023, at the Trillium Hospice House in Marquette while under the loving care of his family and the U.P. Home Health and Hospice.

Michael was born in Ishpeming, on February 18, 1954, a son of the late Jeannette Marie (Wiitala) Louma and Donald Louis Raisanen. Michael worked numerous jobs throughout his lifetime, some of which included construction and logging. His work career culminating with his final 15 years as a maintenance man with Tilden Twp. Michael loved the outdoors, especially fishing and passionately watched "Gunsmoke", and it is believed he knew the words to ever episode.

Michael is  survived by 4 children - Lori Raisanen, Craig Raisanen, Krystal (Ryan)  Connors; and Chad (Kasey) Raisanen; two sisters - Ann Marie G. Poirier and Dawn Raisanen;10 Grandchildren - Fisher, Tailyn, Kelsey, Jeremy, Madison, Dustin, Tyler, Chad, Steven, Eiseri; an uncle Richard Raisanen; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins including a special cousin Brian Raisanen; special friends Kathy Lampi and Fred VanLuven; and his favorite feline Sammy. Michael was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Steven and Mark; and sister Jeannette.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 4:00pm-5:00pm on Monday, January 16, 2023, at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home, where a memorial service will follow at 5:00pm with the Rev. Steven Weston to officiate. A reception will follow the services at the Tilden Twp. Hall. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
