Michael “Mike” Radcliffe, age 77, longtime Elgin, South Carolina resident, passed away on Wednesday September 30, 2026, following a short illness.

Mike was born in Bangor, ME on October 9, 1948, son of the late George and Margaret (Heinonen) Radcliffe. Mike was a graduate of Republic-Michigamme High School. Following graduation, he served in the United States Navy before working for Cleveland Cliffs Mining company. He later re-enlisted in the Navy before retiring from the University of South Carolina. Mike married his wife, Beverly Koski on September 15, 1973, in Republic, MI; they were married for over 53 years and raised one son.

Mike enjoyed beekeeping during the warmer months and blacksmithing when the weather turned cooler. He was an avid tinkerer, history buff, and loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandson.

Mike is survived by his wife, Beverly (Koski) Radcliffe, and his son, Ryan Radcliffe. Mike has one grandson; Donnie “Raddi” King, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Valderay (Radcliffe) Pietila and her husband William "Peach" Pietila, and brother, Shawn "Pat" Radcliffe Sr.

Mike's family will greet relatives and friends at the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home on Friday October 9, 2026, from 12:00pm until 1:00pm. A celebration of life will follow at 1:00pm where friends and family are encouraged to share a memory or story of Mike. Sandwiches and a vegetable tray will be provided throughout. Mike's ashes will be spread at a later date.
