Ishpeming – Michael S. "Mike" Argall, age 51 of 142 Summit St., Ishpeming died Saturday, September 8, 2012 as a result of injuries sustained in an ATV accident near Clear Lake in Champion Twp.
Michael was born May 5, 1961 in Ishpeming, the son of Ronald K. and Louise A. (Bureau) Argall. He was a graduate of the Westwood High School, Class of 1979. Mike married Pam Anderson on June 29, 1984 in Ishpeming, and together they moved to Rhode Island shortly after their marriage. Mike found employment at the Electric Boat Company, a division of General Dynamics in Rhode Island, and also attended the New England Institute of Technology from which he received an associates degree. Mike and Pam lived for brief period in Illinois prior to settling back in Ishpeming in 1986. Mike had worked for the M.E. International foundry in North Lake from 1987 – 1992, and was presently working for Cliffs Michigan Mining (C.C.I.) at the Tilden Mine, where he had been for the past 20 years, mainly as a plant repairman.
Mike will be remembered as a loving and caring husband and father, always supporting his children's activities, hobbies and business pursuits. His true passion was his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, on which he participated in the "Thursday Night Ride" and had attended the Sturgis rally the past three years. He also was an outdoorsman who enjoyed time spent at camp, along with fishing and hunting. Mike was an avid sports fan, and religiously listened to his beloved Detroit Tigers. At home or at camp, Mike enjoyed working with his hands and always had a project going on.
Survivors include his wife Pam Argall of Ishpeming, a daughter Katelyn Argall of Houghton, a son Benjamin Argall of Ishpeming, his parents Ronald and Louise Argall of Ishpeming, 2 brothers – Gordon (Pamela) Argall of Coventry, RI and Daniel (Peggy) Argall of Cherry Valley, IL, a sister Laurie (Pete) Lammi of Ishpeming, his mother-in-law – Rose Anderson of Ishpeming, three sisters-in-law – Carol Goldsmith of Greenville, SC, Marcia (Duane) Dolkey of Wetmore and Lynn (Jimmy) Bellmore of Ishpeming, a brother-in-law John Anderson of Ishpeming along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law Raymond Anderson.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 4 until 7pm on Tuesday September 11, 2012 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home, with a memorial service to follow at 7:00pm on Tuesday with the Rev. Thomas Skrenes to officiate. Internment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
