Ishpeming, Michigan - Matthew J. Smiley, age 30 of 1515 Co. Rd PAA Ishpeming, MI, passed away and went to be with Jesus, our Lord and Savior, Monday July 23, 2012 at the Bell Hospital in Ishpeming.

Matthew was born on February 20, 1982 in Shreveport, LA to Robert & Susan (Kershner) Smiley. He was a graduate of Northrop High School, in Fort Wayne, IN.
Matt was currently employed by Superior Contact as a call center operator. He enjoyed reading, wakeboarding, cooking (and eating), and walking his dogs. Matt was especially fond of talking and fellowship with family and friends.

Matt is survived by his wife Kim (Thibeault) Smiley, parents: Bob & Sue Smiley of Fort Wayne, IN, brother: Sam (Jess) Smiley and their children, Sam, Halie and Lucy of Fort Wayne, IN, grandmother Marjorie Smiley of Youngstown, OH, stepson Brenden Thibeault, mother in law Kathy Thibeault, sister in law and brother in law Lynn (Troy) Ball of Ishpeming along with aunts, uncles and cousins. Matt was preceded in death by his grandparents Mary & Hollister Kershner, David Smiley and a nephew Alex Smiley.

A Private family service will be held in Fort Wayne, Indiana at a later date.
