Ishpeming- Mary Lee Leaf, age 79 of 111 Bluff St. #508 Ishpeming passed away Monday November 2, 2015 at her residence while in the loving care of her family and UP Home Health & Hospice.

Mary Lee was born May 22, 1936 in Amasa to John Lawrence & Anna Pauline (Bennett) Gill. She graduated from Amasa High School. Mary worked as a cook for many local restaurants including Herb & Mary's and Mt. Shasta in Michigamme and also at the Wawonowin Country Club.

Mary Lee was well known for her beautiful cake decorating. She enjoyed crafts, working puzzle books and taking care of her grandkids. She was a member of the Woodland United Methodist Church where she belonged to the Women's' Auxiliary.

Mary Lee is survived by 2 children: Leslie (Craig) Johnson of Wetmore, MI and Dan (Laurel) Leaf of Joliet, IL, daughter in law Kathi Leaf of Michigamme, 6 brothers: Lowell (Marilyn) Gill, Todd (Darlene) Gill, Sam (Alla) Gill, Steve (Joann) Gill, Tom (Mary Beth) Gill and Ed Gill, 3 sisters; Diana Gill, Susan "Bunny" (Bryon) Olson, and Valerie Gill, 9 grandchildren; Rex (Patricia) Johnson, Cliff (Randi) Johnson, Alex (Sarah) Johnson, Sally (fiancée Steve) Johnson, Kristin (fiancée Zach) Granlund, Davin Leaf, Dain Leaf, Patrick Leaf, and Andrea Leaf, 4 great grandchildren; Gloria, Sylvia, Ella and Jake Johnson, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Mary Lee was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Leaf, sons: Don & John Leaf, 2 infants: Timothy Allen & Mary Claire and a brother Don Gill.

Funeral services for Mary Lee will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday November 7, 2015 at Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with Deacon John Weber officiating. Interment will take place in the Lakeview Cemetery in Michigamme.

Mary Lee's family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home from 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm. Pallbearers will be Mary Lee's grandchildren.

Memorial considerations may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or the American Kidney Fund in memory of Mary Lee.
