Ishpeming, MI - Mary Kay LaBo, age 77, longtime Ishpeming resident, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at the Teal Lake Senior Living Community in Negaunee, while under the loving care of her family, staff at Teal Lake Senior Living Community and the U.P. Home Health and Hospice.
Mary Kay was born in Ishpeming, on August 10, 1944, daughter of the late Mary Teresa (Roti) and Michael Joseph Manzoline. She was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1962. Mary Kay and her family returned to her hometown of Ishpeming after living in Hawaii, Massachusetts and California to be closer to family. MaryKay worked as a clerk at Johnson's Drug store in Ishpeming and then as a medical records clerk at the Marquette Internal Medicine office. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Mary Kay was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ishpeming and had taught 5th grade catechism classes, confirmation classes and marriage classes. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafting, and gardening; she knew everything there is to know about plants and enjoyed sharing her knowledge with friends.
Mary Kay is survived by two daughters, Terri (Steve) Gillotte of Ishpeming; Ann (Bob) Gereau of Crivitz, WI; two grandchildren; Caitlin and Meghan Gillotte; a great grandchild Charlotte Gillotte along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters - Margaret (Paul) Mahoney, Janet (Robert) LaCosse; along with her former husband and friend Bob LaBo.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 3:00 to 4:00 PM on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ishpeming, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 4:00 PM with Rev. Fr. Ryan Ford officiating. The Mass will be livestreamed at ishpemingcatholic.com/live . Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the Mass in the K/D Hall at the Church.
